Got a question? It’s probably here!

Do you see all ages?

We see folks ages 16 through 64.

What insurance do you take?

We currently accept Aetna, CIGNA, United Health, Optum, Regence, Providence, and Pacific Source. Please check and make sure your insurance has MENTAL HEALTH BENEFITS prior to scheduling. We do not accept any patients with Medicare and unfortunately, we cannot accept self-pay for these patients either.

What are the self-pay rates?

See our rates here: http://www.newpagepsychiatry.com/services.

Why do I need a card on file?

We process all fees (including copays and coinsurance) before the appointment. With the volume of appointments and in honor of keeping our current prices (and being able to continue to take insurance), we cannot call each patient to obtain individual payments. We currently do not have the staff available to make that happen. You will need a credit card on file WITH an HSA card if you choose to use an HSA/FSA account.

How are fees/copays collected?

The evening prior to your appointment, any copays and self-pay fees are collected to your card on file. Please ensure if you have an HSA account that it has the proper amount of money in it prior to your visit. If you need to unlock your card, please do it 24 hours before your visit to avoid cancellation. Deductibles are typically collected after the insurance processes the claim, which can be days or weeks (sometimes months) later. We charge them to the credit card on file.

Can I do a payment plan?

Absolutely! Please email admin@newpagepsychiatry.com for help with setting up a payment plan. We want you to be able to afford care. Let us know what you can do and we will make something work.

Why am I being charged if I have insurance?

You may have a deductible. This means that your insurance company expects you to owe a percentage (from 20% up to the full amount of the visit) until you reach a set amount of money. Once you have paid that amount of money, the insurance company then agrees to start paying for your healthcare. For example, if you have a $2,000 deductible, your insurance company expects you to pay $2,000 out of pocket for your healthcare visits before they will pay any of your visits.

Can you make a superbill for my insurance?

Sure! Upon request, we can provide you with a superbill. A superbill is an itemized list of services you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement after paying out of pocket. Check with your insurance company to see if they accept out-of-network superbills for psychiatric behavioral health.

What if I can’t afford medications?

We are very familiar with prices of medications and can help you use services such as GoodRX, the Mark Cuban Pharmacy, and other means to save money on prescriptions. We can work together to find an affordable solution. Just let us know if that’s a concern!

Do you provide therapy?

We focus on medication management and incorporate supportive therapy and offer suggestions through our appointments. We highly recommend that everyone who takes psychiatric medication also has a therapist. We have many recommendations and referrals if needed. There is a limited number of spots available for EXRP therapy for OCD with Lucia Kilday.

Will you work with my therapist/other provider?

Absolutely! We would love to collaborate with your whole treatment team. If you have an established provider (i.e. therapist, dietitian, physician) you want us to coordinate your care with, please enter their information on the release of information form in your intake paperwork or email admin@newpagepsychiatry.com if you need an additional form sent.

What happens during a psychiatric intake?

Your provider will ask lots of questions about you! They may ask about development (pregnancy/first years of life/childhood), school, work if applicable, interests, family pets, and medical history along with questions about sleep, eating, emotions, and mood. We may ask you, a parent, or a teacher to fill out a questionnaire in some cases or request other documentation. Some things are hard to talk about, so appointments are always in YOUR control and the focus is to make you feel safe and comfortable. If you would like to involve a friend, significant other, or family member for support, we are happy to allow that. At the end of the appointment, we will talk about the diagnosis and treatment options going forward.

What if I run out of meds before my appointment?

Send a request through the patient portal. We do not always get requests through the pharmacy. Exceptions do exist such as for frequently missed appointments, not obtaining necessary labs, or controlled substances. We require an appointment on file in order to send any refills and for all payments to either be complete, or a payment plan to be in place.

Can I talk to my provider outside of my appointment?

We ask that you make an appointment to speak with your provider. You can send messages outside of appointments, however, more extensive concerns/questions should be asked during appointments. We do not make medication changes outside of appointments. Refill requests can be sent through the patient portal. We do NOT do crisis situations - please seek urgent care or the emergency room for a crisis.

Please also note your provider may work a second or third job besides this one, and also would like to enjoy their personal life. Please make an appointment if you have concerns that need to be discussed at length.

Do you diagnose autism or developmental disabilities?

No, our providers do not provide evaluations for Austism spectrum disordrer or developmental disabilities. A neuropsychological evaluation with a developmental physician or psychologist is the best option for autism diagnoses or for diagnosing learning disabilities or dyslexia. However, we have experience with medication management with folks who have autism and/or delays.

Do you diagnose ADHD?

Yes, we can treat and diagnose Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Does my appointment have to have video or can I do a phone call?

Yes, in order to evaluate and treat you, it is very important to be able to have video during your telehealth sessions. If you will be away from video services you need to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.

Do you treat substance use disorders?

We are not equipped to work with substance use disorders at this time. There are intensive outpatient options, groups, and other resources in OR, WA, and UT for substance abuse that we can direct you to.

Do you treat eating disorders?

Yes, our providers have extensive training in eating disorders. Please note, if you have an eating disorder you may be required to have an outpatient team established to continue working with your provider (such as a therapist, dietitian and PCP that you meet with regularly). We can help provide referrals to build your outpatient team.

Do you provide Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters?

At this time we do not provide ESA letters.

Do you provide FMLA/LOA paperwork?

This is up to your provider’s discretion and the length of time you have worked with them. No FMLA/LOA paperwork will be completed on the first appointment. PLEASE check with the provider of your paperwork to ensure that a nurse practitioner is sufficient PRIOR to asking us to fill it out. This is solely your responsibility. There is a small fee for paperwork.

How do I reschedule/cancel my appointment?

Find your confirmation email from IntakeQ or login to your patient portal. It will have an option to cancel or reschedule. You will not have this option if it is under 24 options prior to the appointment time. Alternatively, you can email admin@newpagepsychiatry.com or text 541-871-3417 to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

What is a "no show" and why did I get a fee?

A "no show" is defined as not attending your appointment, a cancellation under 24 hours prior to your appointment time, and/or attending your appointment 10 or more minutes late. If there are technical difficulties or other things causing a delay, text 541-871-3417 for help.

What if I need a copy of my records?

Sure, let us know in advance. Medical record requests should be in writing to our email and will be sent within 30 days. We do charge a $50 fee for a medical record request.

What if I am afraid this will be uncomfortable or awkward?

Our providers want you to be comfortable and we pride ourselves on being extremely sensitive to emotions and we will meet you where you’re at! If you aren’t vibing with your provider feel free to say so and if that feels uncomfortable an email is totally fine too. We love to see you advocating for what you need! Never worry about eating during appointments or not “looking your best.” We just ask that you not be driving!
